Personal Note to the announcement below by Aether Capital Partners:

Three decades ago I lived and worked in London at Union Bank of Finland (nowadays Nordea) in Trade & Export Finance. I am happy and truly honoured to re-establish my contact with the UK, this time in impact investing.

I was pleasantly surprised when James Hughes asked me to join Aether Capital Partners as an advisor and investor. It will obviously be a part-time engagement, based on my experience in the Blue Economy and Private Equity, as well as my passion for sustainability and ‘saving the seas’. I am fully committed and look forward to working with James and his team. I will continue with my daily role in our family office Aboa Advest, co-founder of A’Pelago driving the Blue Economy in Finland and the Baltic Sea region, as well as our partnership with Redstone Blue Fund. For all of us the partnership with Aether Capital Partners provides a deeper understanding of impact investing in Europe and hopefully many new contacts in this realm.

We’re delighted to welcome Timo Ketonen as an investor in Aether Capital Partners.

Timo chairs the Ketonen family’s holding and investment company TS Group (TS-Yhtymä Oy), a long-standing and highly respected Finnish media and communications business. He also leads his family’s investment vehicle, Aboa Advest, which focuses on growth companies and has a clear impact and Blue Economy orientation.

Most recently, Timo has been driving APelago Experience – an active platform and ecosystem that accelerates Blue Economy innovation across the Baltic Sea region.

Timo joins a small and highly respected group of investors, many investment industry veterans, who share our conviction that there is a new, better way to back growth equity: one that pairs robust conventional financial returns with real, measurable environmental and social impact.

We’re hugely proud to have Timo’s support. His combination of media leadership, long-term family capital and hands-on impact investing experience makes him an ideal partner as we scale the Canopy Catalyst Fund and pursue tangible climate and circular-economy outcomes. In addition, Timo’s recent support and backing for Redstone Blue Fund I demonstrates his desire to be actively involved across multiple channels.
